Borough of Folcroft
Borough Manager
Hours – Monday through Friday, some weekends and evenings
Rate – $70,000 -110-000
Reports to: Borough Council
About the Borough Manager:
The Borough Manager serves as the primary conduit between the elected Borough Council of Folcroft and the municipal government. This is an advanced managerial position that requires understanding and experience across all functions of municipal government including but not limited to:
- Public works
- Zoning and Code Enforcement
- Parks and Recreation
- Finance
- General Administration.
The Borough Manager is a public facing role, that will coordinate with partners who are both employed by the municipal government in adjacent organizations, and other professionals serving at the pleasure of council through contract. These positions include but are not limited to:
- The Chief of Police
- The Borough Solicitor
- The Borough Engineer
Work involves daily contact with Borough residents, elected officials, members of the business community as well as frequent interaction with all levels of Borough staff. The Borough Manager shall be the chief administrative officer of the Borough, coordinating grant writing and administration in support of borough projects.
Responsibilities:
- Be Responsible to Council for carrying out all policies and programs established by the Council.
- Direct and supervise the administration of all departments and offices of the borough, excepting those otherwise aligned to other organizations through state and municipal code.
- Approve the disbursement of funds appropriated by Council and report to Council on such disbursements at regularly scheduled council meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring that all council members are provided appropriate materials ahead of council meetings.
- Make recommendations to council concerning policy formulation in accordance with best practices in municipal government.
- Prepare and submit the annual budget to council.
Qualifications:
- College Degree, or direct relevant experience
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
