Responsibilities
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage open dialogue and personal growth among group members.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect the confidentiality of all participants.
- Document medical and behavioral health information accurately and timely, ensuring adherence to best practices in medical documentation.
- Provide grief counseling and support for individuals dealing with loss or significant life changes.
- Implement dance therapy techniques as a form of expression and healing, when appropriate.
- Work with geriatric populations, understanding their unique needs and challenges in group settings.
- Apply cognitive behavioral therapy principles to help participants identify and change negative thought patterns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance facilitation skills and therapeutic knowledge.
Requirements
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing, grief counseling, dance therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse groups effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality is essential.
- Previous experience working with geriatrics or similar populations is beneficial.
- Ability to create a safe space for participants to share their experiences openly.
