Job Summary:
The Group Facilitator plays a key role in fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment for clients by leading group counseling and therapy sessions. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strong documentation practices, and an understanding of recovery tools. The facilitator guides clients toward recognizing maladaptive behaviors, developing skills, and using tools for recovery and post-treatment living.
Job Responsibilities:
· Lead group counseling or therapy sessions on assigned topics in alignment with the program schedule.
· Maintain a productive, safe group environment.
· Design and implement group agendas informed by current therapeutic and recovery tools.
· Complete thorough and accurate group notes within 24 hours, meeting Joint Commission, DHCS, and insurance standards.
· Foster strong relationships with clients and team members to support a collaborative treatment experience.
· Demonstrate appropriate conduct and interactions during group sessions to promote a respectful atmosphere.
· Collaborate with the treatment team to align with clients' goals; report any acute concerns to supervisory staff promptly
· Assist in managing crises and preventing acute care admissions (ACA).
· Adherence to Policies: Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality laws
· Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisory team.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year of the following credentials: RADT, CADC, CATC-I, CATC, SUDC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psy.D., or PhD.
· Minimum of one year of experience facilitating group sessions in substance use treatment or behavioral health settings.
· Expertise in group dynamics, de-escalation skills, substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment processes, documentation standards.
· Excellent communication skills are required.
· Current CPR/First Aid certification and TB test are necessary.
Education:
· Licensed LMFT, LCSW, LPCC
· Bachelor’s Degree
Work environment:
This position operates within a dynamic substance abuse and mental health treatment setting, involving indoor and occasional outdoor tasks. Exposure to clients facing substance use and mental health challenges is expected. Reasonable accommodation is available for individuals with disabilities.
