What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Construction Estimator position at DeLeers Construction?
DeLeers Construction is expanding our Estimation Team! We are looking for an experienced residential or commercial construction estimator who has a passion for accuracy and an eye for detail. Our estimators work very closely with our sales and project management teams, and interact with our trade partners. Using Sage Estimating and PlanSwift, our estimators not only do materials but also labor take-offs. DeLeers Construction specializes in high end residential homes and commercial buildings. We work with our customers from the design phases, through project management and construction.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and perform accurate labor and material takeoffs according to DeLeers procedures. Ensure that all paperwork and information necessary to the bid preparation is complete and ready for submission.
- Determine standard vs. non-standard pricing based on the specifications of the project and standard vs. non-standard availability of materials and scope of work involved. Ensure that any special pricing has been confirmed for non-standard bid projects.
- Assist Business Development Associates in the assembly of project budgets. Ensure and validate accuracy of project budgets by validating against hard estimates or bids, including assessment on all projects, code compliance and development issues. Work collaboratively with Business Development Associates on the creation of scopes of work, and in bid openings and contract awards.
- Read and review blueprints/plans and interpret them in order to determine all trade responsibilities.
- Communicate regularly and coordinate with the Director of Operations, Business Development Department and Project Managers as necessary and appropriate.
- Review finished quotes with Business Development Associate, other Estimators, or Project Managers; answer questions and make changes as required.
