You will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers consistently adhere to finished product quality standards, aligning with the high expectations of the Boar's Head Brand. Additionally, you will assist with special projects as directed by the Senior QA Manager.Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct Food Safety and Product Quality audits across various venues, including Food Service Operations, Retail Store Operations, Manufacturing, and Food Distribution outlets.
- Perform ongoing risk assessments, develop corrective actions, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of preventive measures.
- Generate and analyze supplier scorecards and reports to identify trends in distribution and co-manufacturing product complaints.
- Organize and audit co-manufacturers' quality assurance documentation stored in the Quality Management System (QMS) portal to ensure compliance with Frank Brunckhorst expectations. This includes reviewing annual GFSI audit reports, Open/Closed CARs, nutritional compliance, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), product specifications, allergen forms, weight and tare information, and other product claims, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate supplier information in the QMS portal, including supplier contacts and associated product codes.
- Coordinate Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections in response to received concerns, including inspections of incoming products.
- Collaborate with BH Local Purveyors, Retailers, and the Sales Team to provide Food Safety training as needed (e.g., ServSafe, Alchemy).
- Communicate directly with BH manufacturing plants and co-manufacturing facilities regarding customer feedback, initiating CARs as necessary to facilitate root cause investigations and resolutions.
- Enter Local Purveyor concerns into the QMS portal and ensure appropriate follow-up calls are made.
- Conduct effective organoleptic evaluations, utilizing corrected sensory abilities as needed, including visual (acuity and color differentiation), olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory assessments.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
