Position Purpose
The VP DTC Membership drives growth, engagement, and retention for our membership program, aligning it with established objectives and revenue goals. This role develops and executes strategies to enhance member satisfaction, foster loyalty, and deliver measurable value through innovative experiences and data-driven decision-making. Collaborating across teams, the VP ensures the program evolves with industry trends, optimizing profitability and lifetime member value while strengthening brand connections with our members.
Functional Responsibility
- Oversees, directs, and manages activities and the leadership team's performance in areas of responsibility
- Drives and models company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions
- Communicates the company's vision and mission; develops and implements the strategies that guide the direction of the business in areas of responsibility
- Identifies, analyzes, and drives the competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments, best practices, standards, etc.; maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
- Owns and oversees the development of the rolled-up budget, and conducts financial planning and analysis to ensure budget and other financial goals are in line with business strategy
- Directs the optimization of resources and results; collaborates with cross-functional leaders to position and integrate business functions and remove obstacles to accomplish key objectives and high impact initiatives
- Drives strategic alignment, guides leadership team, and works cross-functionally in the development of staffing plans; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve the company's goals and objectives
- Promotes and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Aligns leaders on change initiatives, leads the way, and prepares the company for success in a continually changing environment
- Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
- Ensures that employee issues, concerns, and complaints are handled in accordance with company policies and applicable legal advice for clear, consistent messaging and resolution
- Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
- Inspires, guides, and develops direct reports; identifies and mentors successor; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
Essential Duties
- Establishes enterprise-wide membership program structures and benefits that will drive new member acquisition and retain existing members
- Oversees the administration of member sales and benefits to meet established sales goals and identifies opportunities that will grow member value and extend tenure
- Defines strategies and tactics to foster loyalty including member engagement, communications, events, and outreach
- Plans annual shipment schedules to effectively program the DTC exclusive portfolio, meet Gross Margin targets and effectively manage inventory
- Oversees member sales processing to include club batch processing, eCommerce sales orders, outbound campaigns and the technology interface to sales
- Directs DTC website properties to ensure a high quality, end to end member and prospect User Experience online; works cross-functionally with Digital Marketing to optimize online presence and sales
- Leads analytical research to understand consumer behavior, segmentation and opportunity for growing membership sales; develops and executes action plans to leverage insights to achieve growth

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- BA/BS required; Marketing focus preferred
- 10 years direct marketing experience
- 3 years experience leading teams
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong wine knowledge is preferred
- Extensive DTC Technology knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
Certificates and Licenses
- Loyalty Marketing Certification (CLMP) preferred
- CSW and/or WSET certification a plus
Working Conditions
- General office environment with occasional travel
- Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $151,842.72 to $237,497.52. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
