Position Purpose
This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of Delicato’s attraction and retention strategy, including a robust plan for diversity and building our workforce of the future. The VP Talent Acquisition is accountable for driving a rigorous external talent sourcing and acquisition delivery model that is scalable with growth both domestically and internationally. Leverages data and analytics to assess untapped opportunities and effectiveness of programs. Serves as a thought partner with leaders throughout the organization in addressing a full range of labor needs and challenges. Oversees sourcing, recruiting, selection, hiring, and all Talent Acquisition programs.
Functional Responsibility
- Oversees, directs, and manages activities and the leadership team's performance in areas of responsibility
- Drives and models company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions
- Communicates the company's vision and mission; develops and implements the strategies that guide the direction of the business in areas of responsibility
- Identifies, analyzes, and drives the competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments, best practices, standards, etc.; maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
- Owns and oversees the development of the rolled-up budget, and conducts financial planning and analysis to ensure budget and other financial goals are in line with business strategy
- Directs the optimization of resources and results; collaborates with cross-functional leaders to position and integrate business functions and remove obstacles to accomplish key objectives and high impact initiatives
- Drives strategic alignment, guides leadership team, and works cross-functionally in the development of staffing plans; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve the company's goals and objectives
- Promotes and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Aligns leaders on change initiatives, leads the way, and prepares the company for success in a continually changing environment
- Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
- Ensures that employee issues, concerns, and complaints are handled in accordance with company policies and applicable legal advice for clear, consistent messaging and resolution
- Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
- Inspires, guides, and develops direct reports; identifies and mentors successor; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
Essential Duties
Develops and implements talent acquisition strategies, for the business both domestically and internationally; leads the development of a full candidate lifecycle experience from sourcing, recruitment, internal stakeholder partnerships, selection, offer, on-boarding, and integrationDevelops and executes the employer branding and reputation management across channels that align with company objectives and value propositionDevelops and maintains strategic partnerships to build the talent pipeline and support community and campus outreach strategies; this includes but is not limited to the internship program and the BIPOC ScholarshipEducates and coaches hiring managers on available talent pool, recruiting best practices, and their role in supporting the company’s hiring practices, policies, and a compelling candidate experiencePromotes diversity in the workplace ensuring that recruiting strategies and sources attract diverse candidates to align with company values and cultureBuilds strong selection capabilities, and criteria that deliver high quality, diverse hiresUsing data, leads, drives and assesses effectiveness of all recruiting programsMentors and manages Talent Acquisition team; continually assesses team effectiveness and initiates technology / innovation, process (including ATS) and team performance improvements; builds an agile team to support a full range of high-volume hiring to niche rolesBuilds industry awareness and market intelligence regarding hiring and compensation trends and challenges, offering strategic insights and market intelligence to senior leadership; represents Delicato as subject matter expert and talent ambassador both internally and externally within our communitiesAs a member of the HR Leadership Team, proactively collaborates with VP HR and VP Total Rewards to identify talent and compensation gaps / challenges to address accordinglyDevelops cost-conscious recruiting strategies that support the company’s needs; aligns and implements processes, manpower and technology to source high quality talent; manages department budgetDevelops a framework and roster of external recruitment firms and relocation services, including financial and quality parameters; leads contract negotiationsThrough training and consultation, ensures that HR team and Hiring Managers understand basic employment law and associated legal risk related to hiring decisionsOther duties may be assignedNon-Essential Duties

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development or related field; Master’s degree preferred10 years of talent acquisition experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership and supervisory roleWine industry experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer : This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $176,085.00 to $275,415.00. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
