What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pizza Maker - Pizza Box position at Delicious Food Enterprises?
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Pizza Maker is responsible for preparing pizza dough, cutting, grating, or slicing various ingredients to be used as toppings, and removing pizza debris from the pizza ovens. The Pizza Maker ensures that the kitchen can operate efficiently and cleanly so patrons can enjoy safely prepared food. They may also check inventories, track food wastage, and make sure the kitchen meets all health and safety requirements.
This work assignment will be at Pizza Box, 1253 Jacklin Road, Milpitas, CA, 95035.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
- Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
- Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
- Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times.
- Preparing high-quality pizzas according to company recipes.
- Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
- Cleaning workstations before pizza preparation.
- Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use.
- Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly.
- Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must have a friendly and courteous demeanour.
- Food Handler’s Card is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous restaurant and food handling experience preferred.
