Summary/Objective:

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for completing various tasks to support the Human Resource department's daily operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the entire recruiting process, employee onboarding, maintaining employee records, understanding employment laws, maintaining benefit records and enrollments, assisting in time tracking, and assisting employees.

Essential Functions:

·       Handle the entire recruiting process, including posting open positions, headhunting candidates, screening applications, completing phone screens, arranging interviews, extending offers, managing background and drug screens, employee onboarding, and initial check-ins.

·       Develop and evaluate recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.

·       Constantly strive to improve the employee onboarding experience.

·       Assist with updating and maintaining the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software, BambooHR.

·       Understand all company policies and assist with explaining to staff when necessary.

·       Understand Federal, State, and Local laws that pertain to our business to assist in ensuring our business is always compliant and up to date.

·       Assist with maintaining employee personnel files through ATS by carefully documenting and saving necessary information.

·       Assist with processing all Personal Action Notices (PAN) forms.

·       Accurately enroll employees into benefits in a timely manner.

·       Use company spreadsheet templates for current information to perform monthly benefit reconciliations

·       Enter new hire data

·       Assist in tracking time and attendance

·       Respond to wage verifications

·       Assist with all employee issues and properly escalate concerns when necessary.

·       Maintain HR documents such as employee files, organizational charts, new hire packets, and other documents as necessary.

·        Assist with the preparation and collection of performance reviews

·        Assists with the processing of terminations

·        Assists or prepares correspondence as requested

·        Processes I-9 forms, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.

·        Processes new-hire background checks

·       Any other duties assigned to help reach the company’s goals.

·       Travel requirements: No regular travel required.

·       Scheduled shift: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

·       Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.

·       Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws.

·       Ability to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule with punctual attendance.

·       Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

·       Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Education and Experience:

·       High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

·       A minimum 2-year experience working in Human Resources is required.

·       PHR/SHRM Certification strongly preferred.  

·       Bilingual Spanish/English required.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

·       Sitting — Remaining in a seated position.

·       Standing or Walking — Standing is to remain on one's feet in an upright position without moving about. Walking is to move about on foot.

·       Keyboarding — Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers to a panel of keys used as the primary input device on a computer, typographic machine or 10-Key numeric keypad.

·       Speaking — Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

·       Hearing Requirements — The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms).

Pay Range:

·       $26.00-$28.00/hour

Potential for quarterly bonuses based on performance.

·       100% company paid $25,000 basic Life/AD&D Insurance.

·       Ten (10) company paid holidays per calendar year.

·       Forty-eight (48) hours of paid-time-off (PTO) accrued per year.

·       Forty (40) hours of vacation (in addition to PTO) upon completion of one (1) year of service.
