Primary responsibilities :
- Oversee and drive all content from your designated section, including that of your team members. This includes :
Monitoring key themes and setting the agenda for content for your section
Aligning the content for your section with the company's commercial plan and other business prioritiesEditing value-add content (scoops, long form, commentary, interviews etc) from your section team and providing feedback where necessaryTaking responsibility for quality and quantity of output from your section teamContribute yourself to the value-add content produced by your section, maintaining and building your own network of contacts and leading by example in terms of quantity and quality of value-add content production.Line manage one, or a team, of journalists in your section, ensuring they are both contributing to the wider product / team goals, and are happy and fulfilled professionallyConduct regular performance reviews for members of your team around both short term and long-term goalsFacilitate career development for your team by arranging training / coaching sessionsBe a key player and senior member in the wider Insurance Insider US editorial team, by :Assisting the US managing editor in terms of editing / bandwidth, and deputize in their absence when neededAssisting on wire editing and earnings coverage when neededProviding advice / coaching to more junior members of the team, including those outside of your section, when needed / appropriateHelp moderate panels / roundtables at our own Insurance Insider conferences / events, and represent the brand generally at eventsDetermine events priorities for your team and direct events assignments / coverage / meeting schedulesAssist the events team in developing content for conferences and sourcing speakersAssisting the commercial team in sales discussions where appropriateFor example, accompanying sales meetings to enrich the discussion with your industry knowledge / helping understand how clients use the product etc.We offer a competitive compensation package which empowers our employees to thrive both professionally and personally.
