Dell Rapids High School is seeking a passionate, creative, and organized individual to serve as our Musical/Play Director for the upcoming academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire and guide talented high school students in the creation and performance of high-quality theatrical productions.
Responsibilities:
The Musical/Play Director will be responsible for all aspects of the school's annual musical and/or play production(s), including but not limited to
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Music, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience directing theatrical productions, preferably with high school students.
- Strong understanding of acting techniques, vocal performance, and stagecraft.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of copyright laws and licensing requirements for theatrical productions.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience directing both musicals and plays.
- Familiarity with technical aspects of theatre production (lighting, sound, set design).
- Experience working with volunteers.
