What You’ll Achieve
As a Lab Support Manager, you will oversee the daily operations in Dell’s Thermal lab. You will manage the training of technicians and engineers on lab skills, ensure lab procedures are followed, and develop and implement processes to improve quality, accuracy, safety and efficiency.
You will:
- Place orders for consumables and lab items, maintain lab budget;
- Inventory, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment, understand equipment operation protocols, keep lab organized and clean, coordinate facilities requests, maintain compliance and coordinate the preparation for audits;
- Document best practices for common test setup and procedures, maintain test procedures and help prioritize projects for technicians in the lab Perform occasional testing to support engineering efforts;
- Manage system Intellectual Property (IP) inventory of lab subnet with system locations and owners, manage server and computer security updates via Kenna tool. Manage badge access requests, ensure safety equipment is present, and safety protocols/rules are clear and enforced;
- Maintain effective relationships between engineers and technicians, identify gaps in lab skill training, assist with tours of lab and report on status of the lab to leaders

Essential Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in a research and development laboratory
- Proven project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Understanding of thermal engineering principles, safety principles when working with and setting up live circuits, and knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) principles and practices
- Mindfulness and a commitment to quality, with the ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely manner
