Job Description
Summary of Position : Serves as a licensed Medicare Member Engagement Specialist for SummaCare Health Plan answering complex / multi-faceted Medicare Advantage plan and benefit questions most often over the phone but also in-person as needed. Tracks and follows-up with SummaCare Medicare members at risk for disenrollment from the health plan. Assists with outreach programs designed to increase retention of SummaCare Medicare members. Utilizes script to ask questions of Medicare members to understand their needs and then share information to assist them with plan and benefit decision making. Documents all calls. Performs plan changes when appropriate. Gives presentations, with assistance, regarding plan benefit information to individual Medicare members or groups of Medicare members as needed. Has working knowledge of and complies with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulations related to Medicare Advantage plans. Minimum Qualifications : 1. Formal Education Required : a. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and / or experience which has provided skill in servicing / retaining customers. 2. Experience & Training Required : a. Has experience performing same or similar responsibilities. Relevant experience includes : customer service experience dealing with Medicare beneficiaries, understanding of Medicare / health insurance compliance, and a working knowledge of Medicare, plan design and benefits. b. Delivers effective, professional presentations in person to individuals or groups. 3. Required Licenses and / or Certificates a. Health, Life and Accident Insurance License (needs to be obtained by October). Continuing Education Classes required every 2 years for renewal of insurance license. b. Valid driver's license.
