Responsibilities
The Specialist for Crew Tech Business Initiatives leads the development of projects focusing on unplanned business needs driving technology changes. The position reports to the Manager – Crew Tech Strategic Support, and will partner with other divisions (including IT, Finance, IFS, FOP, OCC, OAP, ODS, HR, Corporate Security) to drive operational efficiency improvements through improvement of existing and development of new Crew tools. Responsibilities include:
- Work directly with other Crew Technology Product Managers, Product Owners and business owners, to efficiently move technology products through the full software design life cycle (from process mapping to scoping through implementation)
- Manage BAU and IT Risk related projects supporting technology reliability and consistent user access
- Set and maintain development standards that deliver the baseline for consistent, high quality technology products
- Assist Product Owners with organizing and clarifying business requirements along with prioritizing among all projects and initiatives
- Work with Business and IT to scope work, gather technical requirements, and define deliverables
- Help allocate and balance technical and business resources needed to complete scoped work based on business requirements
- Create an effective and coherent communication and reporting strategy to drive transparency and accountability into the technology development process
- Support go-live and deployment of projects (occasionally requiring after hours support on nights/weekends)
- Effectively communicate cross divisionally and to senior leaders
- Promote safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
- This position requires you to work for 2-3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Rotations: Summer 2025, Spring 2026, Fall 2026
- Strong leadership skills, presentation skills, written and oral communication skills, positive attitude and able to manage change successfully in a fast-paced environment
- Must be strategic, dynamic, detail-oriented and impactful. The ideal candidate should be an analytical thinker, self-starter and quick learner
- Must have prior experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from large budget initiatives to smaller end-to-end projects
- Required to coach and deliver feedback for developmental purposes
- Proven track record of successfully working in a cross-departmental team environment, delivering results on time and on budget
- Must have strong business acumen and must have excellent communication skills with senior management, employees, FAA Reps, union officials, vendors, customers
- Must be open to feedback from, and prioritize the needs of, a diverse set of stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience with conflict resolution, problem solving and have the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
- Must demonstrate the ability to lead, manage, and communicate to all levels within the organization
- Must have the flexibility and availability to travel, as well as to perform periodic after-hours and weekend work
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
