Position Summary:
Delta Community Supports, Inc. is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Regional State Director to promote the community support of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families by overseeing service delivery through the supervision of Regional and Associate Directors and other personnel providing the support necessary to manage the day-to-day operations of the NJ Community Living Division and all programs resulting from growth and development of the State offerings. The Regional State Director is responsible for developing and managing program efficiency, service delivery, financial success, and individual and family success in the community. In conjunction with leadership, the Regional State Director designs, implements, and evaluates service delivery and continuous process improvement utilizing strategic planning and identified programmatic goals. A key element of this position is overseeing multiple locations while maintaining the highest quality standards. In partnership with other leaders in the organization, it creates opportunities to demonstrate long-lasting, impactful, and positive outcomes for the work-life satisfaction of staff.
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative, high-quality support initiatives in keeping with regulations and guidelines
- Contribute to the creation and success of the Community Living and Community Center strategic plan, including planning for program growth, process stabilization, and overtime reduction
- Work closely with the management team in all aspects of program management, service delivery, program implementation, staffing issues, staff development and community support
- Ensure that all sites and services at sites comply with contracts and reporting requirements, and help develop and monitor measurable outcomes
- Lead and make recommendations for ways to improve coordination and integration of programs
- Maximize the development and implementation of plans to improve the culture and quality of engagements with outside organizations, advance the mission and values of Delta, and be an employer of choice
- Oversee the selection, assignment, direction, support, empowerment, and overall performance of division employees
- Ensure the total capacity of programmatic resources
- Monitor the development and implementation of high-quality individual support plans
- Monitor the quality and quantity of support provided through direct observation, verbal and written reports, and various assessment procedures
- Monitor compliance with Delta, state, and accreditation agency policies and procedures
- Maintain productive communications with support coordinators, consultants, psychiatrists, and healthcare professionals
- Promote and ensure effective interdepartmental communications and cooperation
- Participate in budget planning and monitor the expenditure of company funds and funds entrusted to the company by individuals
- Ensure the preventative maintenance and repair of regional properties and equipment with the Facilities Department
- Present and explain the overall operations of the company to other agencies, local and state officials, the general public, potential customers, and other interested parties, as required
- Respond to implementation plans and processes to comply with new regulations or requirements
- Lead the development of processes to ensure all compliance standards are met
- Deliver messages aligned to the Delta brand
- Collaborate on the development of marketing plans, which may include service improvement in assigned departmental areas, service promotion, and audience messaging
- Monitor trends and keep current in regulatory requirements and service delivery best practices
- Cooperate with company and regulatory agencies during any inspection or investigation
- Cooperate with Department of Human Services staff in any investigation or inspection
- Represent Delta in professional associations and state agencies as appropriate
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee and report on the departments strategic plan, programmatic goals, and key performance indicators
- Promote and demonstrate ethical and professional conduct at all times
- Participate in Deltas Risk Management Program, addressing the health and safety of individuals we serve and employees
- Participate in agency meetings and initiatives that pertain to CL and Day Programs, such as Risk Management Meetings, Human Rights Committee meetings, Administrative Review Meetings, Budget Meetings, HR Roundtable meetings, and Daily Check-in Meetings.
- Comply with Deltas policies and DDD licensing standards.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in a social service field, management, or public administration.
- Valid drivers license in the state of residence.
- Ten (10) years of experience in providing community-based support, including five (5) years in a management capacity. Appropriate additional experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements
