THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our county's infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: Operating a variety of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and more. You will also perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment safety and efficiency. When road construction, maintenance, and repair projects arise, you will assist in completing them. During the winter months, you will be responsible for handling snow removal operations. You will work with your team members to collaborate and achieve project goals and deadlines. You will prioritize safe operating procedures and protocols and display respect, support, and camaraderie with your fellow team members to ensure a secure work environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Three year’s progressive experience in safe driving of commercial trucks and operating heavy equipment including but not limited to graders, backhoes, dozers, loaders, snow plows and dump trucks. Combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
We prefer that you have a Class A Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a current medical card, Class B CDL with ability to get a Class A OR the desired experience and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
