Duties and Responsibilities:
Under moderate supervision, performs the following duties and responsibilities:
· Answers the Technical Support hotline during assigned schedule; responds to customers’ issues over the phone and troubleshoots and/or researches technical issues through to resolution. Researches and resolves complex issues escalated by other staff members. Logs all calls into database with detailed information. Responsible for schematic level troubleshooting
· Reviews and replies to customers’ technical issues that are submitted directly to the technical Support department’s e-mail inbox.
· Provides on-site technical support at customer’s locations on installed products.
Minimum Education, Skills and Experience:
· Associates degree in Electronics or related discipline or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in electronics, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
· Basic understanding of DC Power required.
· Two to four years of previous technical support of telecom power equipment or product repair/test experience of telecom power products required.
· Demonstrated proficiency with computer software to include MS Office (Word and Excel), e-mail and ERP/financial accounting systems.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Effective time management and organizational skills required.
· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills required. Demonstrated ability to identify, research and resolve issues.
Organization:
Technical Support Technician reports to Manager, Telecom Services.
Authorities:
Position has no authority to purchase necessary materials for field service jobs.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires long periods of sitting behind a desk, telephone work and performing tasks on a computer. Additional physical requirements include standing, bending, hand dexterity, and light lifting of up to 50 lbs. Position may also require travel on a domestic or international basis to meet customer needs.
