Delta Flight Products LLC has multiple openings for Stress Engineers II in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and substantiation of complex aircraft interior and structural modifications and generate substantiation documents to show compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed mechanical and structural designs and recommend specific methods of compliance.
  • Lead the reviews and structural analysis of engineering design data to verify compliance with FAA regulatory requirements and design criteria, providing progressive inputs to the design.
  • Produce substantiation reports to document structural analysis.
  • Generate test plans, serve as test engineer during compliance testing, and document test results in reports. Support regulatory review of engineering, testing, and substantiation data.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation of aircraft modification projects. Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to modification projects.
  • Provide input to statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules, and other project administrative tasks.
  • Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Telecommuting permitted 1 day a week.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in aviation or related. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, and 1 year of experience in aviation or related field.

Must Have Work Experience In

  • 3D CAD systems
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods
  • Performing classical stress analysis
  • Utilizing aircraft continued airworthiness data
  • Aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware
  • FAA regulatory requirements and how they relate to stress analysis requirements.

Airline Experience Preferred
