Title: Manufacturing Engineer (CNC)
Reports to: VP of Operations

Delta is an AS9100 registered facility which manufactures prototype and production gears and housings to support the aerospace and defense industries.
Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes within a production facility, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness by developing new systems, equipment, and procedures, analyzing production data, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your extensive 5 years in CNC engineering related software to develop efficient CNC programs for complex parts, ensuring optimal machining strategies and processes for superior final products.
- Advise on manufacturability with your understanding of machining methods to match our selection of equipment and applications.
- Support critical continuous improvement initiatives from a software driven outlook (e.g., CAM templates, advanced setup sheets and manufacturing work instructions, streamlining CAM programming, etc.)
- Leverage your expertise in GD&T and inspection principles to analyze drawings, CAD data, parts lists, and other technical specifications to properly determine the scope of work and ensure that parts meet specified tolerances.
- Exhibit an understanding throughout the programming, tool selection, and machining processes, ensuring the production of exceptional final products.
- Foster a positive team environment by effectively communicating with operators, engineers, and team members, while collectively addressing challenges and optimizing processes.
- Utilize your familiarity with modern manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot in-process manufacturing and part design issues by providing DFM feedback to optimize manufacturability and reduce costs.
Job Qualifications:
· A 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent apprenticeship background in CNC/CAM.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering software. Preferably Mastercam, SolidWorks, and Vericut.
- Strong collaborator with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to cooperate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry a huge plus.
- Proficient with Google, Microsoft Office, or related software suite
- Solid grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and demonstrated ability to apply them to precision machining.
- Experience in machine tool probing to ensure a higher level of accuracy in cutting applications.
- Capacity to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, effectively managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to maintain a steadfast commitment to consistently producing top-quality work.
- Well-versed in coding with an understanding of NC parameters and macro developments.
· Physical Demands:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
