Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Restaurant Bartenders to join our exceptional team at a competitive pay rate of $15-20/HR based on the last 12 months average pay rate for our restaurant servers consisting of a base pay rate of $12/HR Tips.

The Restaurant Bartender responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and serving drinks to customers as well as being able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations. The bartender position is also responsible for interacting with the hotel guests and ensuring they have a great experience at the bar, restaurant, and/or lounge. The bartender position should also maintain positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner as well as keeping the bar counter and work area clean and organized at all times.

Essential Functions

• Interacting with customers and taking orders for drinks and snacks.
• Planning and presenting the bar menu.
• Serving snacks and drinks to the customers.
• Checking identification of the guest to make sure they meet the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and/or tobacco products.
• Mixing ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Mixing drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company and hotel standards for drink recipes.
• Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
• Serving wine and beer to guests.
• Arranging bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
• Assessing customers’ needs and preferences as well as making recommendations.
• Ability to upsell and utilize suggestive selling.
• Providing recommendations and suggestions to guests for choosing drinks and snacks.
• Serving customers in a friendly and helpful manner at all times.
• Providing guidance to guests on hotel and/or resort activities, dining options as well as general hotel and regional information.
• Determining when a customer has had too much alcohol and if required refusing any further serving in a polite way.
• Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions
• Handling and moving objects, such as, glasses and bottles.
• Cleaning up after customers and maintaining a clean work area.
• Clearing ashtrays when required.
• Washing glassware and utensils after each use.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning glass doors and windows, etc. when needed.
• Performing physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
• Maintaining liquor inventory and consumption.
• Collecting payment for drinks served and balancing all receipts.
• Handling an assigned house bank and/or cash drawer as well as following all cash handling procedures per hotel and company standards.
• Preparing inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
• Ensuring that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with the tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests.
• Staying guest focused and nurturing an excellent guest experience.
• Complying with all food and beverage, federal and state laws and regulations.
• Complying with attendance rules and to be available to work on a regular basis.
• Performing any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Previous bartending experience required in a mid-scale or upscale property.
• Experience in handling Point of Sale (POS) terminals as well as Stock and Inventory management software.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to local and state laws.
• Computer knowledge and experience in MS office programs.
• Must be able to communicate in English. Writing and speaking in other languages is an asset.
• Must have excellent and positive interpersonal skills and personality.
• Valid Food Handler’s permit and/or alcohol serving permit if required by local and/or state laws.
