Delta Solutions is seeking a Space Activities Synchronization (SASO) Senior Watch Officer to support the United States Space Command Joint Operations Center at Peterson AFB, CO. This position directly supports USSPACECOM’s Protect and Defend mission by ensuring the JOC Director is ready to conduct operations in the space Joint Operations Area. The SASO will train with and directly support operational crews to provide the Battle Watch Commander with updates and recommendations regarding space support to theater operations throughout each shift.
The ideal candidate is an individual who enjoys having their finger on the pulse of the Nation’s global Space Domain Awareness missions, having daily insight into the deployment of US and other nation space capabilities, directly participating in Space Domain Awareness and space Theater Integration operations, having the lifestyle flexibility provided by operational crew shift schedules, and being a key contributor to decisions made by senior leaders in a combatant command. Experience across multiple space operations mission areas is a key differentiator for candidates seeking this position. Also, hands-on experience with relevant SDA tool kits, understanding of global SDA sensors, and knowledge of both DoD and National space capabilities.
\n- Senior Watch Officers achieve certification and maintain proficiency in both the SASO and Global Sensor Asset Manager (GSAM) crew positions to provide the capability to staff either crew position on a normal shift rotation and support training, certification, and procedure standardization oversight of all contractor GSAM and SASO JOC Watch Officers.
- Senior Watch Officers are responsible for generating the contractor inputs to the JOC overall crew schedule and coordinating schedules with contractor staff. Training with supported crews to become certified in JOC mission areas and responsibilities – learning new tools and skills – integrating DoD, National and Commercial capabilities enabling the USSPACECOM Protect and Defend mission.
- Day to day supervision of contractor staff assigned to the team including managing schedules, time off, timecards, training, and staff professional development.
- This position is focused on the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) position, called SASO. GSAM is the Missile Warning/Missile Defense watch officer position operating C2BMC and PDSM while providing the JOC Battle Watch Commander with insights into GSAM-related global and theater events and the SASO SWO is dual certified as a GSAM watch officer.
- Providing Theater Integration support for 24/7 USSPACECOM JOC
- Providing status of forces for forward deployed/stationed space capabilities around the globe
- Providing the Chief of Operations with updates and recommendations regarding space support to theater operations.
- Coordinating with the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) for space support requests to identify conflicts and recommend mitigating actions
- Participate in appropriate telephonic conferences from the JOC floor
- Supporting development of crew training programs, providing exercise support, and assisting with the training of USSPACECOM senior leaders
- Supervisory skills to manage a small team of SASO and GSAM crew members, perform scheduling activities, day to day care and managing of staff, and coordination with government SASO/GSAM military and government civilian counterparts.
- Ability to work crew shifts supporting a mission essential 24/7 operations environment and contribute to the team’s success
- Ability to provide subject matter expertise in multiple core Space Operations mission areas such as SDA, SATCOM, PNT, ISR, or Space Control
- Knowledge of various Space Support system tools such as SDCCS, PDSM, Space Board, GAP-CIE, etc. Hands-on experience preferred but not required – we’ll train you up!
- Willingness to learn new tools and skills essential to mission success
- The ability to converse with senior officers, share your expertise, and work in a high ops tempo when called upon
- An active TS/SCI Clearance is required to be considered for this position

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $125,000-$135,000. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only.
