You’ll handle cost tracking for manufacturing jobs, support inventory cost management for 10,000 SKUs, and help re-systemize our financial workflows to meet ISO 9000 standards. Key Responsibilities
- Job Costing:
- Track and allocate costs per job (e.g., materials, labor) to ensure accurate Bills of Materials for manufacturing projects.
- Provide data inputs for financial statements, ensuring costs are correctly reflected in the company’s financial reporting.
- Financial Systems Management:
- Manage and optimize financial systems to process data accurately, supporting the owner’s understanding of financial statements.
- Use or implement software tools to streamline cost tracking and reporting processes.
- Inventory Cost Support:
- Assist with cost tracking for 10,000 SKUs of industrial and performance plastics inventory, ensuring compliance with aerospace certification requirements.
- Collaborate with operations to align inventory costs with financial reporting.
- Process Improvement:
- Support the re-systemization of financial workflows to meet ISO 9000 quality control standards for manufacturing and distribution.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.
- Partnership and Reporting:
- Partner with the owner to provide financial insights and ensure data accuracy for strategic decision-making.
- Generate reports on job costs, inventory expenses, and other financial metrics as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a focus on job costing (e.g., tracking costs per project or job).
- Familiarity with financial systems and software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems) to process and report data.
- Basic understanding of inventory cost tracking, ideally in a high-SKU environment (experience with aerospace certifications is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage financial data accurately.
- Ability to work independently and partner with company leadership to drive process improvements.
- Comfort with using AI tools or software to streamline financial tasks (training provided if needed).
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with operations and leadership teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments, particularly with aerospace, semiconductor, or automotive clients.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and their application to financial processes.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and cost allocation methods.
