Deltech Monomers OpCo LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in chemical manufacturing, specifically in the areas of monomer production, catalysts, and process optimization. The successful candidate will provide expert technical guidance to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and safety of chemical processes, working closely with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvements. The Technical Advisor will also serve as a key point of contact for troubleshooting, process design, and the introduction of innovative catalyst technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Catalyst Selection & Optimization: Provide expert guidance on the selection, implementation, and optimization of catalysts to produce monomers and related chemicals. Identify opportunities for catalyst regeneration, recycling, and performance improvement.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish protocols for ongoing monitoring of catalyst performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular technical reports to management.
- Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Analyze chemical production processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Troubleshoot operational issues related to catalysts, reaction kinetics, and chemical processes.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and maintain product consistency, troubleshoot quality issues, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and customer specifications in all manufacturing phases.
- Technical Support: Offer technical support to plant operations, including troubleshooting catalytic reactions, reaction kinetics, and other process-related issues that may impact product yield, purity, or safety.
- Process Design & Scale-Up: Assist in the design, scale-up, and optimization of new chemical production processes, to ensure effective integration of modern technologies and catalysts into production lines.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer: Lead internal training sessions for operational staff and engineers on best practices for catalyst handling, catalyst deactivation prevention, and process troubleshooting.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all processes adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. Work to improve safety protocols related to catalyst handling and chemical processing.
- Innovation & Sustainability: Contribute to efforts aimed at making processes more sustainable, such as by recommending energy-efficient technologies, waste reduction strategies, or the use of renewable feedstocks.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with a focus on monomer production, catalysis, or related processes. Prior experience working with industrial-scale catalytic processes is strongly preferred.

- Deep knowledge of catalytic reactions, catalyst design, and optimization in industrial chemical processes.
- Experience with monomer production processes (e.g., polymerization, cracking, and other key chemical reactions).
- Familiarity with catalyst deactivation, regeneration, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Process Optimization Skills: Proven experience in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing cost-effective, high-performance solutions to improve chemical production outcomes.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in chemical production environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen) and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab).
- Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with strong mentorship and coaching capabilities for junior engineers and technical staff.
