POSITION SUMMARY:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for separating, screening and efficiently feeding materials up the sorting line with a backhoe, as well as the preventive maintenance on the equipment and work areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform pre and post operation inspections on equipment and vehicles.
- Effectively screen/sort material and feed line.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and vehicles.
- Perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance daily.
- Check all the bearings to make sure they are clean from any debris daily and ensure they are intact and functioning properly.
- Communicate with line lead to ensure a consistent flow of material on the picking line.
- Ensure the working areas and screen deck are clear of debris and check all bins and belts.
- Ensure all lights and power boxes are turned on/off daily.
- Maintain cleanliness on the front side of the building and around the infeed area.
- Empty containments from loads, track which customer dumped the load to charge accordingly.
- Wash, lubricate and fuel equipment and vehicles.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience operating excavator, a plus
- Previous experience with heavy or light equipment
- May be required to obtain various certifications related to assigned area of responsibility

1. High school diploma or GED
