General Overview
Hotel Breakfast Attendant greets and welcomes guests to the breakfast area and makes them feel comfortable in their environment. The Breakfast Attendant must maintain a friendly and helpful attitude to guests, customers, clients and visitors. The Breakfast Attendant must prepare, display, serve, and safely store food products for the hotel breakfast. The Breakfast Attendant will also keep the breakfast serving area clean and well displayed, as well as keep eating area tables, chairs, and floors clean during and after breakfast serving hours. The breakfast Attendant is responsible for pantry and food preparation rooms to be clean and well organized. Food storage and safe food handling practices are always required. This position is crucial to the atmosphere of the breakfast for the guests and provides the guest with a very pleasant or happy experience to enhance their impression of the hotel.
Tasks
Greet guests with a friendly welcome
Contact the appropriate department if guests report problems
Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment, and clean glasses, dishes, and service wear
Serve food, beverages to guests or customers
Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary
Cook food or prepare food items using standard formulas or following directions
Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages
Replenish foods at serving stations
Set up dining areas for meals and clear them following meals
Add relishes and garnishments to food orders, according to instructions
Order items needed to replenish supplies through the general manager
