The Associate Director, Business Management ensures coordination and follow through on strategic and execution deliverables for the Human Resource and Legal organizations. Effectiveness in this role requires natural aptitude for building strong, trusting partnerships across the organization. In this position, the Associate Director, Business Management, plays an essential role in a broad range of activities necessary to drive and manage critical operational and strategic aspects of a growing and transforming company.
The Associate Director, Business Manager, is an integral member of the HR and Legal Leadership teams, with responsibilities to support the execution of strategic initiatives through coordination, tracking and monitoring of activities and deliverables outlined. The Associate Director, Business Management ensures the right connections are made for both internal and external activities, facilitating relationships with key stakeholders.
This position requires the candidate to be hands-on, self-motivated, and emotionally intelligent, and to thrive in our fast-moving, dynamic environment and complex, fast-changing industry. The candidate will anticipate needs and demands and work to provide logical, innovative, and creative solutions without explicit instruction, communicating changes in prioritization and decision-making efficiently. The candidate must be capable of carrying out multiple projects while effectively prioritizing tasks according to the needs of the HR and Legal functions and the organization.
Responsibilities
Act as "thought partner,” to the Chief People Officer, General Counsel and Cross-Functional Partners for both internal and external activities
Facilitate and manage a broad range of projects to help ensure attainment of strategic priorities consistent with corporate goals
Work with leadership team members individually and collectively on key business projects; translate strategy into deliverables that can be measured and managed
Ensure that key initiatives in support of Denali’s goals are on track, intervening as appropriate to ensure meeting goals; monitor and report progress, triaging and escalating issues as appropriate
Identify and prioritize key issues early and expedite resolution by integrating information search, analysis and evaluation to provide an informed perspective and propose solutions using project management and business improvement capabilities
Influence appropriate stakeholders and ensure appropriate prioritization and project management to support the business in meeting their objectives
Support the development leadership team with preparation of executive-level presentations
Organize and drive the rhythm of decision making and outputs to feed into key meetings and initiatives
Develop agendas, manage meeting flow, summarize and follow-up on actions to ensure timely execution
Draft and minute key discussion points for leadership strategy meetings
Requirements
BS/MS in a scientific discipline with emphasis in life sciences preferred
6 years of relevant work experience; Pharma, Biotech, or Life Sciences preferred
Proven experience in knowledge management, communication, strategy/planning and project management
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly with PowerPoint and Excel
Capable of conveying scientific information in a clear and thorough manner
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to compose concise, sensitive and professional emails, communicate with heads of functions, and prepare presentations for the CPO and General Counsel
Team oriented, highly motivated, execution focused with strong work ethic, ability to thrive in a high growth, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
Highly adaptable and responsive to technical and business opportunities and needs – comfortable delivering against challenging commitments; results and deadline-driven
Willingness to work hard, take direction, anticipate problems and proactively suggest and drive solutions without explicit guidance
Excellent analytic problem-solving skills; agile and able to work well under pressure

Salary : $163,000 - $211,000
