What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate/Transactional Associate Attorney position at Denney Law Group?
About the Firm :
Denney Law Group represents entrepreneurs, startups, and growing businesses across many industries.
But we are, hands-down, the go-to subject-matter experts on restaurant / hospitality law in Texas. We represent restaurants, bars, caterers, Top Chefs, Iron Chefs, breweries / wineries / distilleries, ghost kitchens, event venues, franchisees, and numerous other food & beverage ventures. We probably work with your favorite restaurant in town (and if we don't, we want to). We get to practice law in creative ways, reflective of the creative natures of our clients.
We don't believe in work / life balance. Instead, we believe in managing the balance between work, family, passion, hobbies, entertainment, good food, adventure, and the myriad interests that make us who we truly are (or truly want to be). This philosophy has served us, our families, and our clients since the firm was founded in 2007.
We want to work with people who live that multi-faceted life.
About the Position :
The firm is seeking a smart, creative attorney who practices corporate / transactional law.
An innovative problem-solver and self-starter, you will assist the firm's attorneys in all facets of a corporate transactional practice, working on entity formations, private securities offerings, the purchase and sale of companies, contract review / negotiation, and maybe even commercial real estate transactions and TABC issues. You will have direct client interaction and work closely with other attorneys and staff in the firm.
We work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, but play well, too. Lunches, happy hours, client openings, and an annual client conference, are just some of the ways we strengthen our bonds.
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years' experience as an attorney. Experience in securities, hospitality, and / or commercial real estate is a plus.
About You :
You want to practice law in a way that will impact new and growing businesses for years to come. Your vision is unique, your point of view distinctive, and your problem-solving skills are well-honed.
You're serious about the practice of law, but don't take yourself too seriously. You laugh often, play well with others, and are eager to challenge the boundaries of the "traditional" law firm paradigm to do work that will meaningfully affect our clients. Whether you want to engage in client development (or learn how to do so), or you just want to focus on your work, you'll have that freedom.
And you love food.
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas (licensure in other states is a plus), and applications should include both a resume and cover letter.
