We are currently hiring for a LEAD PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR opportunity! You will be joining a great accounting team with the responsibility of leading the payroll function for all Dent employees. This includes bi-weekly processing of payroll, coordinating work of other payroll support team member(s), all payroll system administration and electronic timekeeping activities, participating in payroll & benefit reconciliation processes, 401(k) funding, profit-share calculations, and other related tasks.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for over 450 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special deductions
- Coordinates work with the other Payroll Administrator
- Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data in the payroll system
- Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee; monitor PTO policies and ensure data transfers properly to the payroll system
- Handle employee correspondence via phone, email, and fax
- Maintain payroll files and documentation
- Fund 401(k) benefit monthly, prepare data for non-discrimination testing, 5500 and profit share calculations annually
- Work with HR and Accounting team to reconcile balance sheet accounts related to benefits; prepare payroll related journal entries and reconcile bank accounts
- Assist with annual external audit needs
- Prepare and update written policies and procedures related to scope of work
- Communicate effectively with management team and employees with a customer service focus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years payroll experience preferred or minimum 5 years payroll experience
- ADP Workforce Now experience desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Excel in particular)
- Knowledge of general ledger systems/journal entries
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience in healthcare preferred, but not required
- Accuracy and detail orientation is a must
- Ability to work independently to meet communicated schedules and deadlines; multi-task
- Ability to function as a team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions:
- Normal working environment, typical of most office settings
- Minimal physical effort, requires some lifting of files, usually not in excess of 15 pounds.

Compensation:
- Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
- Rates are commensurate with experience
