Job Responsibilities
The Team Leader will provide assistance and support to the Patient Financial Services department. This position is responsible for effectively leading, developing, directing, and providing oversight to the Office staff while spearheading quality and customer satisfaction initiatives. In addition, the Team Leader is responsible for creating a productive work environment which results in staff satisfaction and team collaboration.
- Fill in for Office staff in the case of absenteeism and to help cover high volume periods.
- Provide work direction with clear responsibility for the coordination of resources to effectively support the day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for assuring Team compliance with Dental Associates rules, regulations and policies, including effective recommendation of discipline for violations.
- Oversee the staff activities to provide a consistent customer experience.
- Effectively resolve escalated internal and external customer issues.
- Act as a change agent supporting continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and tools.
- Maintain a professional image in appearance and manner.
- Create and maintain department training material to ensure function and accuracy.
- Communicate daily, weekly and monthly metrics with team.
- Create learning opportunities to advance skill sets and productivity.
- Provide coaching and counseling to the Office staff for increased accuracy, production and service.
- Evaluate and provide performance feedback.
- Schedule and lead regular team huddles to manage workflow, utilize staff resources and support team problem solving.
- Create and maintain personnel working files for all staff members including confidential management memoranda
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education in business, communication, management or healthcare is preferred.
- Three years of leadership experience is preferred
- Minimum of two years of dental or insurance experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of practice management system and Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interactions with internal and external customers.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and discounts.
- Sound decision making and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems in a variety of situations.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.
- Applicants working with CarePlus may be required to obtain their insurance license within six months of hire.
