A premier private dental practice in Lafayette, TN is seeking a qualified Dental Receptionist to join their team on Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 3:00 PM schedule.
The Front Desk Dental Receptionist’s responsibilities include confirming patient appointments, working to keep schedule full, answering phones, scheduling patients, presenting treatment plans, collecting patient payments, reactivating patients, communicating with patients. as well as verifying and filing insurance.
To be successful as a Front Desk Receptionist, you should be able to organize and maintain patient waiting areas, as well as front-desk areas. Ultimately, a top-performing dental receptionist will perform all duties in a manner that ensures the efficient running of the dental practice and positive experience for patients.
Front Desk Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice
- Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed
- Assisting patients to fill out information forms
- Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff
- Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders
- Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments
- Verifying and making insurance claims
- Verifying methods of payment and collecting outstanding payments from patients
- Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing
Front Desk Receptionist Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience working as a front desk receptionist or administrator
- Exposure and/or previous knowledge of healthcare terminology
- Experience working with healthcare and/or Dental-specific scheduling software
- Working knowledge of administrative best-practices
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management
