Billing and Insurance Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate medical and dental coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities

• Process and manage patient billing information accurately and efficiently.
• Review and verify medical records to ensure proper coding using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG systems.
• Handle medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for accurate billing.
• Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and communications.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to billing activities.
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical or dental billing and coding within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG methodologies.
• Familiarity with medical collection processes and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
