Position Summary
The Activities Coordinator provides group and individual activities for the
residents. Duties will involve personal contact with a varying resident population for the purpose of Customer Service and individual Lifestyle Assessment. Activities Coordinator is expected to work a varied work schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. Tasks also will involve record keeping, attention
to the environment, use of supplies and equipment, and maintenance of storage areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate, develop and maintain a quality activity program utilizing staff expertise and family and community resources.
2. Provide an activity program that meets the needs and interests of the residents and state, federal and corporate expectations.
3. Develop and organize individual and group activities for a wide variety of interests, from music to intellectually stimulating activities to special events.
4. Develop an activity plan with measurable objectives consistent with the resident's care plan and the physician's orders.
5. Organize activity calendars and programs which are congruent to the needs/interests of the residents and which meet state, corporate expectations, ensure its posting and communicate calendar functions throughout the facility.
6. Maintain a log regarding the residents’ attendance in activity programs.
7. Organize and monitor volunteer records and reports.
8. Coordinate development of assisted living newsletters.
9. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the resident activity program and, as necessary, modify the program to meet resident needs/interests.
10. Ensure an offering of religious programs that consider resident preference.
11. Attend mandatory facility in-services
12. Attend department in-services or workshops as directed by the Assisted Living Manager

Work Environment
This job operates in an assisted living setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required.

Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to facility

8. Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail
9. Must be able to successfully prioritize workload, demonstrate initiative, and analyze situations to make sound decisions
10. Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure
Required Education/Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer service role
Preferred Education/Experience
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a caregiving role
