Dentons is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Technology Trainer to join our global law firm supporting the needs of users in our Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Portland, Maine, offices. This position will be resident in our Indianapolis or Louisville office. The ideal candidate will specialize in Microsoft 365, iManage Work (document management system), 3E financial management software, and common legal vertical applications. This individual will be responsible for developing comprehensive curriculums that drive efficiencies and maximize the use of the latest technologies. The Legal Technology Trainer will play a critical role in onboarding all new joiners to our firm while also enhancing the technical skills of our legal professionals and staff ensuring they are equipped to leverage technology to improve productivity and deliver exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
- Design and develop training programs and materials for Microsoft 365, iManage Work, and other legal vertical applications for existing personnel as well as for onboarding.
- Design and develop training programs specific to the deployment and integration of 3E financial management software and other data reporting tools.
- Create user-friendly and engaging training content, including manuals, guides, videos, and interactive e-learning modules.
Training Delivery
- Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops, and webinars for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to users addressing specific technical challenges and questions.
- Lead onboarding sessions for all new joiners to the firm tailoring training to the specific role, experience and needs.
Needs Assessment
- Collaborate with department heads and end-users to identify training needs and skill gaps.
- Develop customized training plans to address the unique requirements of different practice areas and teams.
Technology Adoption
- Promote the adoption of new technologies and best practices within the firm.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in legal technology and incorporate them into training programs.
Performance Measurement
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Continuously improve training content and delivery methods based on user feedback and technological advancements.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and user progress.
- Prepare regular reports on training activities and outcomes for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in training or instructional design, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365, iManage Work, and other legal vertical applications.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with 3E financial management software; experience providing training related to new financial systems and data reporting tools strongly preferred.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for technology.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with e-learning platforms and content creation tools.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Certification in Microsoft 365 or iManage Work is a plus.
