Xanterra Travel Collection, one of the world’s leading experiential providers with property locations in some of the most iconic destinations in North America, is hiring for a dynamic and experienced Corporate Director of Sales.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior sales leader in the hospitality / resort industry, with proven success in delivering ambitious occupancy and revenue targets for a portfolio of properties, and a history of managing, training and motivating team members across geographically dispersed locations to set and exceed sales goals.

 

This role will play a pivotal role in delivering revenue growth for the organization and is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans at both the corporate and property levels, while leading a network of regional sales teams. This role is a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on selling, where you will actively engage with major national and property accounts while also training, supporting and mentoring our property sales teams.

 

Our preferred candidate will have extensive experience in travel or hospitality sales, deep industry connections, and the proven ability to proactively identify, prospect, renew and close business. This role will work closely with senior leadership to align sales efforts with overall business goals, build deep, trusted relationships with key clients, and identify new opportunities for cross-selling and innovate new revenue stream opportunities across Xanterra’s portfolio of brands.


Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development & Execution:Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for both national accounts and property-level sales teams.
    • Create and oversee the execution of annual and quarterly sales plans that align with corporate objectives and individual property goals.
    • Cascade sales targets throughout the organization, set individual team member sales targets, and create incentive plans to ensure successful target achievements.
  • Account Management & Business Development:
    • Identify new sales opportunities, prospect new business, and expand upon our existing client base.
    • Effectively maintain and renew existing key client accounts and drive repeat visitation and repeatable revenue.
    • Personally form deep, trusted relationships with key accounts, to ensure long-term client retention.
    • Identify opportunities for cross-sell, upsell, and additional revenue opportunities to drive increases in client order value.
    • Drive the growth of property accounts by working directly with property sales teams to implement effective sales strategies.
    • Ensure key accounts are maximizing annual inventory allocations while also maximizing annual group arrival caps within the National Parks.
  • Team Leadership & Sales Support:
    • Support, mentor, and collaborate with regional and property sales teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and provide guidance in closing key accounts.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability within the sales teams.
    • Lead all Sales Trainings and ensure team members at all levels are equipped with effective sales tactics, industry insights, best practices and tools to achieve goals.
  • Cross-Sell & Brand Growth:
    • Actively seek opportunities to promote and cross-sell multiple brands within our portfolio, ensuring our offerings are positioned to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
    • Develop strategies to leverage the strengths of each brand and grow revenue across different market segments.
  • Industry Networking & Relationship Building:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, travel management companies, corporate buyers, and other key stakeholders.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build brand awareness and generate new business leads.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting:
    • Own, produce and communicate standardized sales reporting across the organization.
    • Establish a culture of data-driven decision making. Regularly track, analyze, and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improving results.
    • Understand the motivations and drivers of satisfaction with clients, identify pain points and opportunities, and work with leadership team to create packages and offerings that are tailored to client feedback.
    • Work with the leadership team to evaluate market trends, competitive intelligence, and sales forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 10 years of experience in sales leadership within the travel, hospitality, or related industry, with a strong track record of successfully managing and growing national and local accounts across a portfolio of properties.
    • Experience working across a diverse range of business segments such as Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, FIT, Consortia and other third-party resellers.
    • Well-versed in digital sales channels such as OTAs (Expedia, Booking.com, etc.), GDS, Siteminder and other distribution platforms.Proven experience in leading, training, mentoring and motivating sales teams, with a focus on achieving revenue targets and fostering a results-oriented culture.
    • Experience in cross-selling multiple brands or services and working in a complex, multi-brand, matrixed organization is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Strong sales skills with a proven ability to close high-value deals, build relationships, and manage large, strategic accounts.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable sales strategies.
    • Strong levels of emotional intelligence, with the ability to grow and unlock the leadership potential of team members.
  • Industry Knowledge & Network:
    • Deep understanding of the travel and hospitality industry and market dynamics.
    • Highly connected within the travel and hospitality industry, with an extensive network of relationships with key decision-makers, corporate clients, and industry partners.
    • Passionate about travel and staying up to date with emerging industry trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.

 

This role is full-time, based out of Xanterra’s corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Estimated travel frequently is 50% or greater to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support property-based sales teams.

 

COMPENSATION:  The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 based upon experience with the additional opportunity to earn sales commissions and bonuses based upon performance.
