The 585 member, by invitation only private club, hosts an 18 hole golf course, two indoor golf simulators (Foresight Quads), indoor and outdoor tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, croquet, casual and fine dining. The club has a long history of golf championships including the Denver Open (PGA Tour Event 1962-1964), Trans-Mississippi Amateur (upcoming 2022), Pacific Coast Amateur and Curtis Cup (1984). The Denver Country Club is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate Swim Coach to join our team. The swim coach will be responsible for assessing swim techniques and determining skill levels, developing individualized training programs, preparing swimmers for swim meets, and fostering a positive and motivating environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, skill development, and sportsmanship, ensuring that swimmers of all levels reach their full potential. A successful swim coach will be empathetic, respectful, patient, and understand swimmers have varying abilities. They will place performance over results and have the ability to encourage and inspire swimmers, build community, and keep the team camaraderie high at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate swimmers' abilities and skill levels to develop appropriate training plans within a pre-determined structured practice schedule.
- Design and implement training programs focusing on improving technique, stroke mechanics, speed, and endurance.
- Educate swimmers on water safety and lifesaving techniques.
- Utilize diverse training activities to enhance water confidence and performance.
- Record training sessions to analyze strokes, refine techniques, and track progress.
- Establish training goals and performance benchmarks for individuals and teams.
- Teach and perfect fundamental swimming skills such as kicks, body positioning, breath control, floating, and flip turns.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free training environment.
- Identify and recruit potential swimmers while preparing individuals and teams for swim meets.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum one year of swim or dive coaching experience (preferred).
- At least five years of competitive swimming experience (preferred).
- Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications (American Red Cross preferred).
- ASCA Summer League Certification (preferred).
- Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire swimmers and maintain parental expectations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate strong and proper swimming techniques across all strokes with speed and endurance.
- Adequate stamina and mobility to be active in the pool and on the deck for extended periods. Be quick moving to observe swimmers and react to emergencies.
- Strong visual and hearing acuity to observe swimmers and communicate effectively.
- Light lifting capability for equipment and occasional swimmer assistance.
Salary : $40 - $45
