Title of position: Cultural Tourism Program Manager
Position type: Full Time – Salary (Exempt)
Pay range: $68,000.00 - $76,000.00 Annually.

Job Summary:
The Cultural Tourism Programs Manager reports to the Vice President of Tourism in the Tourism department. The Cultural Tourism Programs Manager’s primary responsibility is managing the cultural tourism marketing programs of VISIT DENVER. The programs include, but are not limited to, the Denver365.com events calendar; VISIT DENVER’s Denver Restaurant Week, Denver Beer Week, and Denver Arts Week; Go The Extra Mile, Neighborhood Guides and VISIT DENVER’s attraction pass. The Cultural Tourism Programs Manager will also act as the department’s liaison to Denver’s rich and diverse cultural community.
In addition to these duties, The Tourism Coordinator will assist the Vice President, Chief of Tourism Development Officer with the authority to recruit, retain, advance, and/or terminate Visitor Information employees and approve employee timecards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Managing the Tourism Information Centers.
- Approve Tourism Information Centers timecards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support VISIT DENVER’S vision, mission, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, commitment to community, accountability, and ownership.
- Support VISIT DENVER’s efforts related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
- Manage Denver365.com events calendar in the following workings: event submissions, weekly features, and calendar-related promotions, as well as work with the internal Web team and part-time contractor(s) to maintain the calendar. Maintains regular contact with a wide variety of cultural partners and attractions.
- Maintain relationships and facilitate conversations of sponsorship with large, cultural tourism-driving events including Denver PrideFest, Cinco de Mayo Festival, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Denver Film Festival, Juneteenth Music Festival, and identify new events that can generate demand for visitors.
- Manage the planning and execution of VISIT DENVER’s two annual local branding programs that are planned and implemented within the Marketing department: Denver Restaurant Week and Denver Arts Week. For all programs, this includes strategic planning and budgeting, solicitation, and management of participation submissions (e.g., menus for Denver Restaurant Week, cultural events for Denver Arts Week, etc.) and assist in the planning and execution of promotions, including, but not limited to advertising, public relations, social media, online content, and collateral.
- For Denver Arts Week, this also includes planning and execution of two key special events: First Friday Arts Walks and Saturday Night at the Museums.
- Manage VISIT DENVER’s multi-ticket attraction passes, currently City PASS and Mile High Cultural Pass, including being the primary liaison with the respective vendors and participating cultural institutions and attractions, and analysis and reporting on sales.
- Manage development and maintenance of VISIT DENVER’s Neighborhood content program, including website and video series.
- Assist with Diversity Project initiatives as well as with niche marketing initiatives including LGBTQ and Hispanic/Latino and African American, as these come up.
- Manage operations of the Go the EXTRA Mile online training program and assist with the program's educational components, rewards and recognition monthly program and website content.
- Manage meetings and initiatives of the Bi-annual Arts & Cultural Organizations Marketing workshop series.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with organizations including partners, hotels and City and State organizations such as Denver Arts & Venues and the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media.
- Collaborate with Marketing Department to accomplish annual goals.
- Maintain databases, timelines, action plans and spreadsheets to track and coordinate projects.
- Prepare various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reports within established deadlines.
- Managing the Tourism Information Centers
- As directed, assist with other initiatives and projects, including various video productions, photo shoots and collateral projects.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Basic knowledge of Adobe Design Suite (includes Photoshop).
- Experience with photo and video shoots a plus.
- Ability to travel locally and domestically as required.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Cultural Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, and/or a relevant field of study.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in marketing, sales, or promotion, with a proven track record of accomplishments.
- Work experience with tourism, arts, heritage, cultural, multicultural or destination marketing organizations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, such as sitting or standing, for an extended period.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
