Position Title: Community Life Supervisor - FCRM

Reports to: Director of FCRM

Job Classification: Full-time, non-exempt

Salary Range: $24.04 - $30.05 per hour

The Opportunity: 

The Community Life Supervisor (CLS) is a full-time, non-exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM). The purpose of the CLS position is to provide direct oversight and supervision of the Community Life Coordinators (CLC) located at Fort Collins Rescue Mission. The shifts may vary due to facility needs.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure all necessary supplies are on-hand to operate each facility including cleaning supplies, sheets, blankets, towels, mats/mattresses, furniture, etc. Confirm that bedding, towels, etc., are clean and available for guest use.
  • Work with the DRM Maintenance Department to address any maintenance issues in a timely manner. 
  • Approve timecards for all CLC staff.
  • Serve as the “Safety Coordinator” for shelter locations or appoint the appropriate staff. Serve on DRM’s Safety Council and work alongside Operations staff from other DRM facilities to ensure the overall safety and security of the shelters.
  • Oversee Shelter statistics and ensure that statistics are entered into our SCRIBE system daily.
  • Manage the CLC team in utilizing De-escalation techniques in response to those resistant to staff, including tracking the training for Decoding Conflict monthly.
  • Ensure that the perimeter of the shelter sites are free from loitering, encampments distractions, etc., to the best of our legal ability. Communicate campsites for the attention of the Hope Team.
  • Ensure that CLC’s provide oversight to guests leaving the facility adhere to neighborhood agreements and apply the appropriate “Asked to Leave” protocol when necessary.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are upheld for each facility and associated services.
  • Ensure that the interior of each facility (including common areas, meeting rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, etc.) are kept free from trash and personal belongings and are cleaned on a scheduled basis.
  • Regularly check and document the observation of medications to ensure compliance with prescribed schedules are provided by Harvest Farm.
  • Ensure that the correct person receives the correct medication(s), dose, route and time.

Supervision of Staff:

  • Provide direct supervision of CLC staff (including daytime and swing-shift staff) and bring any areas of concern to the attention of the Director of the Department.
  • Under the advisement of the Director, coordinate with the People and Culture team to hire and onboard new employees and provide appropriate training for new staff.
  • Schedule assigned shifts to provide appropriate coverage for all staff at each facility.
  • Hold individual meetings with CLC staff members and focus on individual job performance and their professional development.
  • Conduct employee 90-day and annual reviews and address any performance issues through the “Progressive Disciplinary” process and under the advisement of the Director of the People and Culture department (HR).

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, criminal justice, business, education or a related field. Equivalent work experience and any certifications/licensures will also be considered.
  • QMAP certification preferred and/or the willingness to be certified within 60 days of hire date.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the acumen to pick up systems and technology.
  • Must hold a current, valid Colorado Driver’s License and be willing to authorize a driver’s record background check. Driving record must be insurable under Denver Rescue Mission’s standards.
  • Previous 4 years of experience in a related field of endeavor preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith and expressed by personal testimony and Christian conduct.
  • Must possess the ability to manage, develop and train staff for their work roles.
  • Must be a self-starter who is highly organized and able to prioritize. Must be highly flexible, adaptable and have the willingness to accept constructive feedback. Must be able to maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to hold appropriate expectations for an emergency/support services environment and its clientele.
  • Must possess a heart for ministry to low-income population.
