What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Resource Center (FRC) Training Coordinator position at DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN & FAMILES?
The Department of Children and Families is seeking a dynamic individual for the Family Resource Center (FRC) Training Coordinator role. The FRC Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and evaluating staff development related to community engagement, programs, and practice. The FRC Coordinator will work together with the Family Resource Centers to build integrated, collaborative learning opportunities for FRC program staff.
Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical assistance to FRC program staff and other entities in the Family and Community Engagement Team, responding to inquiries, developing, and maintaining a training calendar, liaising with various agencies, facilitating workshops in person or virtual platform.
The Coordinator facilitates program training needs assessment, including the development and distribution of resource materials throughout the Commonwealth. The Coordinator also manages the Unit’s social and intranet platforms.
Please Note: Travel between program sites, including traveling to Boston and other DCF facilities for meetings, is required. A valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and reliable access to appropriate transportation is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive):
· Coordinates and monitors assigned program training to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards.
· Review and analyze data concerning assigned programs to determine progress and effectiveness to make recommendations for improvement in procedures guidelines.
· Conduct overall training needs assessments with FRCs.
· Coordinate New Staff Orientation, including maintaining a list of staff who have attended and dates.
· Identify and engage experts in the field to facilitate training tailored to FRC audience.
· Develop an annual training calendar and deliver training on best practice methodology, with a focus on the full range of FRC staff roles.
· Contract with organizations providing evidence-based parent education training.
· Manage training registration system and attendance database.
· Develop a training budget in collaboration with the Family Resource Center Manager.
· Attend team meetings and FRC training events.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Training experience or related relevant experience working with community-based organizations.
· Knowledge of adult learning theory and practice.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Knowledge of DCF Policies, programs, and procedures.
· Knowledge of training, instructional design, curriculum development, and strong facilitation skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration, the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*
III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
