The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) seeks to employ career-oriented candidates and offers employment opportunities in a wide variety of challenging occupations. What you will be doing Your primary purpose as the Supply Specialist 2 is to oversee and coordinate warehouse daily supply and inventory control functions. As the Supply Specialist 2, you will participate in the receipt, storage, security, shipment, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of property, equipment, food, forms, and supplies. You will prepare, process, and maintain documents for the requisition, purchase, receipt, stocking inventory, issuance, and delivery of goods. You will receive supplies and equipment requests, review and approve for completeness, and verify the authority of person placing the order. Procure a wide variety of supplies, food, forms, materials, and equipment to pre-established monetary limits or delegated purchasing authority; use a state credit card, the requisition and purchase order processes, statewide contracts, or informal bid process. You may direct Adult in Custody (AIC) workers to follow rules, policies, procedures, and security guidelines; instruct and train on work techniques and procedures, and in the safe and efficient operations of tools and equipment. What we are looking for Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years of stocking, storeroom, or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, or materials; maintaining inventory records, and shopping for and receiving of materials. Requested Skills in Completing accurate inventory and stores records Projecting inventory requirements and determining space requirements for storage Purchasing, receiving, maintaining, and inventorying supplies Communicating orally with a variety of people answering questions, gathering and exchanging information Reading and applying purchasing procedures, guidelines, and price agreements Reviewing documents such as purchase orders and bids for accuracy Creating and navigating excel sheets Required Valid driver’s license Preference will be given to those candidates with previous work experience utilizing spreadsheets and data inventory or financial recording; as well as forklift, reach, pallet jacks, and hand trucks experience. Working Conditions Work requires physical ability to perform heavy lifting for short duration on daily basis, to assist and/or observe the loading and off-loading of supply shipments during inclement weather conditions, to work in -20 degree storage unit. Operation of equipment unique to warehouse operations (fork lifts, reaches, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.), and subjected to hazards associated in accomplishment of assigned duties at the Warehouses including control and custody of adults in custody. Security regulations require skills and knowledge of daily custody and supervision of adults in custody. Must maintain a general knowledge of security procedures and guidelines. Requirements for Employment You must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud.
