Summary of Duties

As a Discovery Clerk, you will:
  • Assist with document discovery by copying, reviewing, and redacting information.
  • Manage and organize case files in ORkids electronic system.
  • Distribute redacted documents to legal parties, courts, caseworkers, and agency representatives.
  • Maintain discovery logs and control records for information received and routed.
  • Handle closed file requests from the public, agencies, and DOJ, including copying, closing, retention, and verification.
  • Audit agency files and process expunction orders as required by law.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents. Or
  • An associate degree in any field. Or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
  • Experience reviewing and editing reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to legal standards.
  • Experience using time management and prioritization to manage workloads and adapt to evolving circumstances and time constraints.
  • Experience managing tasks that require meticulous organization of documents, verifying their accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience evaluating information and analyzing policies to make informed decisions and guide actions.

Working Conditions
  • Training and trial services will be conducted in the office. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for hybrid work, primarily remote, with a requirement to be in the office one day per week.
  • In this role, you will handle sensitive issues related to trauma, abuse, substance use, and crises.
  • You will interact with a diverse range of individuals, including those who have experienced trauma and may struggle with emotional regulation.
  • This position requires sitting or standing and using a computer for prolonged periods.

  • The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.   • Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.
