As an Office Specialist 2, you will work in the Beaverton Office providing support to District 16, which serves Washington County. You will primarily support the District’s Administrative Office and multiple agencies. This position is not eligible for a remote schedule.
Summary of Duties
As an Office Specialist 2, you will:
- Be the first face of contact in most field offices for Oregonians and provide a welcoming environment for individuals interacting with the department.
- Support the infrastructure of the office by supporting the day-to-day operation.
- Provide informational services and guidance to the public.
- Processing incoming paper and electronic applications, files, etc.
- Assist Oregonians by providing support with the online Oregon Eligibility system, for ODHS, Oregon Health Authority (OHA), and Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) programs. by phone or email to resolve any questions or concerns.
- Assisting Oregonians through a trauma informed lens.
- May include financial desk responsibilities.
- Processing records, assists in scheduling, and assists in supporting hiring activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
- An associate degree in any field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Experience in a reception setting, including scheduling knowledge and working with people experience in crisis.
- Demonstrated experience managing a high volume of tasks with competing deadlines and staying organized.
- Experience with crisis intervention or conflict resolution techniques.
- Experience adjusting communication style to the receiving audience and building rapport with a variety of people from diverse populations or situations.
- Demonstrated experience quickly adjusting to changing priorities and new tasks, experience learning new processes and systems.
- Experience gathering information from customers to help determine the type of services meets their needs.

Working Conditions
- Experience constant contact with the public, including contact with and possibly de-escalating customers experiencing emotional and financial stress.
- Experience high volume of computer work, using various computer programs in a fast-paced team environment.
- Priorities and procedures may change daily and requires the ability to be flexible in application of procedures.
- This position works in the admin office and is not a remote position.

- The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
