What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT ASSISTANT position at Department of Industrial Relations?

Under close supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor I (ITS I) over the Program Support Services group in the Office of Information Services, the Student Assistant (SA) assists the System Support team in a learning capacity. Provides support to the operation of information processing systems, microcomputers, and multifunction automated office systems; and to do other related work.

This posting may be used to fill future vacancies in accordance with 2 CCR §249.3

The Student Assistant will work in an open-spaced, partitioned office environment, climate-controlled. Being in a stationary position for long periods of time.

Department Information

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.

This is a non-testing classification, therefore anyone meeting the minimum qualifications listed on the classification specification may apply for this position.
