This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Communications (OC), Media Affairs Division (MAD). The incumbent of this position is responsible for leading a team in developing and implementing strategic communication plans, managing media relations and public outreach, handling crisis communication, and ensuring compliance with policies and ethical standards.

Specialized Experience :
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include :
- Directed all phases of agency publication production, including guiding the work of print and electronic media reporting and overseeing the coordination of speeches and talking points covering various topics.
- Managed public relations programs involving controversial issues or issues of significant public or Congressional interest.
- Directed all phases of agency publication production operations.
- Edited and rewrote material prior to publication and determined the readiness of published material.
