This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
The Budget and Fiscal Analysis Branch is responsible for providing strategic and technical support for DMV’s current and future multibillion-dollar budget decision-making, analyzing financial and workload data, making departmental funding allocations, setting program/service/product fees, and creating detailed reports for internal and external stake holders.
As part of the Cost Accounting team, the incumbent will perform various cost analyses at the direction of the unit manager; work with assigned divisions in gathering, calculating, and validating allocations of resources, activities, and cost objects for an activity-based costing system; perform various complex analyses on the model results and reports with completeness and accuracy; develop, maintain, enhance, and publish the ABC reports and dashboard for end-users; prepare fiscal analysis of legislation bills as requested by the DMV Legislation office; prepare ad hoc reports, special costings, and other assignments as needed; and present in person or virtually, report findings and recommendations to executive management and external agencies in a group setting.
The Associate Accounting Analyst employment list will be used as an appropriate list to fill this position. List eligibles on the Associate Accounting Analyst employment list may apply for this position. If the selected candidate is on the Associate Accounting Analyst employment list, they will be hired in the classification of Associate Administrative Analyst - Accounting Systems and will maintain their eligibility on the Associate Accounting Analyst employment list.

Working Conditions
Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency.
Works in an office setting, in a cubicle and/or telework, primarily sedentary for extended periods of time. Operates a computer terminal. Ability to communicate effectively with internal/external customers over the telephone and email. Requires fine hand manipulation and repetitive use of hands (typing, operating a mouse, and keyboard). Occasional reaching above shoulder level and occasional bending/stooping.
