What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM COORDINATOR position at Department of Motor Vehicles?
JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to be used agency wide. The mission of the DMV is to promote the safe operation of motor vehicles and public safety, while providing outstanding customer service. The purpose of this position is to coordinate the daily operations of the Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) program including identifying and monitoring program participants, program enrollment, license restriction, device installation verification and compliance-based release verification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates comprehensive plans, outlines tasks, milestones, and schedules to ensure proper operation of the ISA program. Develops criteria to evaluate and forecast the achievement of program goals and objectives. Coordinates work to be accomplished by staff, and solves issues associated with work operations, and evaluates program performance. Ensures the program’s operation and mission align with federal and local regulations, policies, and guidelines through regular reviews. Examines operating methods and procedures, including record management, form design, testing, and reporting procedures, and recommends adjustments as necessary.
Facilitates regular information planning sessions, fosters effective collaboration with agency’ staff and vendors, provides updates on work progress accomplishments, and monitors ongoing projects. Collaborates with department staff in the drafting of guidance and direction regarding program management and reporting. Participates in meetings with internal staff and representatives from agencies and industry to assess program status, key milestones, and coordination efforts, identifying potential obstacles or costs in advance. Also, determines the necessary action to maintain or enhance the program. Identifies actual and potential problems, trends, and inadequacies in the program, and makes recommendations and takes necessary action to address and enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

The work is performed in an adequately heated, lighted and ventilated non-smoking environment. The work is primarily sedentary in nature.
