The Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility list may be used as an appropriate for the Associate Personnel Analyst. Candidates with Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility must also meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification in order to be eligible for appointment.

The reporting location for this position is 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814. This position will work under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I.

The Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) independently performs the more varied and complex analytical staff work related to Form 700, Position Control, and Management Information Retrieval System (MIRS) Reporting. The APA ensures compliance with various control agencies, including the State Controller's Office (SCO), California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), and State Personnel Board (SPB). Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of Position Control processes, procedures manuals, and modules.

Training and development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered.

Eligibility Information

To be appointed you must satisfy one of the following requirements:

  • Transfer Eligibility – Must have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above).
  • Reinstatement Eligibility – Previously obtained permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above).
