PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / FOUR RIVERS SECTOR / SAN LUIS RESERVOIR STATE RECREATION AREA
“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).”
The reporting location for this position is San Luis Reservoir/Four Rivers Sector in Gustine, CA. The Park Aid (Seasonal) shall work under the direct supervision of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor and may be assigned to take direction from the Lead State Park Peace Officer and/or Senior Park Aid.
The Park Aide (Seasonal) position is a temporary position hired to work in state park unitss throughout California. The time of employment is limited by available funding. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The Park Aid (Seasonal) is responsible for entrance station operations. Duties include, but are not limited to: fee collection, revenue accountability, providing visitor information, assisting visitors, vessel inspection, campground registration, reservation registration, attendance documentation, traffic control, reporting hazards and park violations, notifying proper authorities in emergencies, and housekeeping.
The Park Aid (Seasonal) is responsible for the daily inspection of vessels and the education of visitors that enter the park as the primary function the Dreissenid Mussel Inspection and Education Program. The Park Aid (Seasonal) advises all visitors with vessels entering San Luis Reservoir SRA the reason for and the importance of the Dreissenid Mussel Inspection and Education Program and performs the subsequent vessel inspections, quarantines, and certifications. All required training related to the Dreissenid Mussel Inspection and Education Program will be provided.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions
Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting. Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather. May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. May work in remote locations
