This recruitment is for one (1), regular, full-time position located in Salem, OR (4190 Aumsville Hwy SE) and is represented by Oregon Public Safety Association. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants and may be used to fill future vacancies.

What you will be doing:
This role involves applying basic accounting principles to manage revenues, expenditures, accounts payable, and receivable in line with GAAP, federal, and state guidelines. The responsibilities include maintaining subsidiary ledgers, generating specialized financial reports, monitoring open purchase orders to prevent overspending, and reviewing financial reports for exceptions. The position also involves verifying fee applications, resolving invoicing discrepancies, ensuring accurate and authorized financial documentation, and coordinating with vendors, departments, and officials on accounting policies.
The Accounts Payable duties include matching invoices with purchase orders, ensuring timely payments, researching discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the role involves monitoring recurring vendors, resolving account errors, assisting with travel coordination, establishing new vendors, and handling customer service inquiries.
Other support tasks include working on special projects, maintaining desk procedures, attending team meetings, and performing tasks safely.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information that must include coding transactions and checking them for propriety, balancing, and resolving discrepancies in computer edits.
OR
One (1) year of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information that must include coding transactions and checking them for propriety, balancing, and resolving discrepancies in computer edits AND at least 43 quarter (29 semester) credit hours from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 9 quarter (6 semester) credit hours in accounting. Credit hours must include introductory level accounting courses 1 and 2.
OR
At least 94 quarter (62 semester) credit hours or an associate degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 12 quarter (8 semester) credit hours in accounting. Credit hours must include introductory level accounting courses 1 and 2 and may include any additional accounting courses with “accounting” in the title.
Training or experience must include using a computer to enter, update, or retrieve information.
