This position is located in the city of Santa Barbara.

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I – District Operations Support (SSM I – DOS), the Supervising Program Technician II (SPTII) supervises and performs the most difficult and sensitive technical and clerical work of a district operations support unit in order to support the delivery of vocational rehabilitation services to consumers for the district. The SPTII is responsible for interpreting DOR policy and developing procedures to ensure compliance in: accounting, personnel, business services, authorization of consumer of goods, and other statistical reporting. Oversees the district’s authorization and invoicing processes. Communicates with vendors in the community to facilitate authorizing and invoicing procedures for procurement of goods.

The SPTII plans, organizes, evaluates, and monitors the work of the district operations support unit and provides direct supervision. Recruits, selects, hires, develops, and retains assigned staff consistent with the department’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program objectives. Provides and/or arranges development of staff in conjunction with internal and external training resources. Resolves staff conflicts. Coaches, mentors, develops and provides leadership to ensure effective performance of the support functions for the district. Monitors workload for consistency and compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.

Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time.
