Department of Revenue is recruiting for an Administrative Specialist 1 (AS1) position. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Collection Division in the Bankruptcy Unit.
This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.
In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.
What You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
  • Provide first level support to the Bankruptcy unit by researching and/or comparing various filing dates and debts associated with a bankruptcy.
  • Perform adjustment tasks including submitting and approving/denying cancellations and write-off requests for multiple tax programs.
  • Perform bankruptcy support duties such as clearing Electronic Bankruptcy Notification (EBN), Suspense, assigning accounts back from Registrations, filing documents with the court, sorting daily correspondence, print notices and distributing to the bankruptcy technicians.
  • As the first point of contact provide customer service in person, by phone, e-mail, or in letter form to taxpayers, CPAs, employers, attorneys, banks, government agencies, and other divisions within the Department of Revenue concerning bankruptcy and tax return filing requirements issues on multiple tax programs by explaining laws, rules, statues, and procedures and the application of such.

This Is What You Need To Qualify

Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes:
